Integrated Solid Waste Managment Stakeholder Process (completed December 2009)
MEI’s Integrated Solid Waste Management Stakeholder Process was an effort to develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from solid waste management activities in the four major population regions in Minnesota. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) hired MEI to design, lead and facilitate the process.

Land and Water Policy Project (completed September 2009)
Developed strategies for actions that will improve the coordination of land and water policies among state agencies,
local units of government, and the private sector.


Green Building Habitat for Humanity Homes (completed May 2009)

Partnered with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to implement a sustainability plan.

Autobody Refinishing Industry Project (completed March 2009)
Helped autobody shops reduce their emissions of hazardous air pollutants.

Mercury Total Maximum Daily Load Stakeholder Process (completed July 2008)
Used stakeholder input to implement a plan for controlling a pollutant.


Energy Efficiency (completed March 2008)
Helped small to mid-sized businesses become more energy efficient

RIM Clean Energy (completed January 2008)
Designed an easement program for biofuel production that benefits water quality, wildlife habitat, and biodiversity.

Impaired Waters Stakeholder Process
Created the foundations of the Clean Water Legacy Act.
